LARGE MOVEMENTS AND SMALL ACTIONS
San Francisco, USA / Tel Aviv, Israel 2001-02
A collaboration with Sheila Ghidini. Through a set of simple instructions sent back and forth on the email, two artists, living at distant points on the globe, carry out a series of actions whose timing is determined by planetary occurrences (high tide/low tide, full moon, summer solstice, meteor stream, winter solstice, planet movement).
At the end of the year, the documentation – including performance images, geographic charts and timetables, sketches and email correspondence – is collected, and an artists’ book of the project created.
The book was included in Mobilivre/Bookmobile2005, (www.mobilivre.org) a traveling exhibition of artists’ books, organized by the Canada Council, that traveled extensively through the U.S.A. and Canada.
