MESH

2019-2023

In this series the surface is built up with a layer of white or black wall putty on paper, then covered with pigment and wax.

In Weave, the black and white lines, etched into the plaster with a metal point or cutting blade, create different densities and a gauze-like weave.

In Gridlines, through the repetitive inscribing and covering over process, minute variations and imperfections are recorded.

In Weathered, the surface is repeatedly incised, then scratched, scraped, or sanded away.
