Through a process of repetitive marking, scratching, and erasing of the surface, using charcoal, graphite, chalks, natural pigments and eraser, domestic articles or other forms emerge. I look for a point of equilibrium between the insistent rhythmic energy of the drawing and the stillness of the final forms in which it is contained.
Related to these works on paper are early wall drawings, in which charcoal, ash or mud is applied directly to the wall, then etched into or erased.
